Museum Tour

Dates: Thursday to Sunday
Times: 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm

Tour Length: 60 minutes

Explore the interiors of an 1830s colonial tavern as you uncover the busy social life and hidden histories of an unexpectedly diverse group of women, children, newcomers, and some of the early Black inhabitants of Etobicoke. Other groups are conspicuous in their absence, such as First Nations Peoples, who were excluded from tavern sociability by racist laws. You'll also discover the more recent history of Etobicoke's Chinese market gardeners, many of whom lived and worked here during the 1930s & 40s. Washroom facilities and the main floor of the historic building are fully accessible, however the second floor is accessed only by a flight of stairs.

Proof of vaccination is not required for participation in indoor or outdoor museum programming (in accordance with the Reopening Ontario Act). Active screening, contact tracing, masking and physical distancing are in place to provide a safe museum experience for our guests and staff.
